"I am travelling through vietnam on a budget with my girl friend jennifer. We started our journey from hanoi and are moving by train to ho chi min city.
After the tiny dirty hotels in hanoi, the victory hotel in hue is a godsend. The room prices range from 27 usd to 35 usd, from a single room to an amazing suite.
Fully airconditioned huge clean rooms with cable tv and a fully stocked fridge( without some of the crazy drink prices I see other hotels charging).
Big soft beds are great compared to the hard ones we had in halong bay.
Bath rooms feature a bath tub and full size water heater and moden toilet. Again a welcome change from the wet bath rooms we have been seeing all over at the other budget hotels.
We get 2 free bottles of water a day and a free welcome orange juice drink when we first checked in.
We did not book any tours from the staff so I do not know about the cost of those. We got a great tour package from manderine cafe from (city tours) for 9 bucks a person. Bus tickets to hoi an which is the next stop in our journey were 4 bucks a piece, booked from manderine cafe.
The only reason I am not giving this hotel an excellent rating is because of its location. It is a good 15 minute walk from here to the river. Its good exercise for me but might not be as accessable for the elderly."
If you like walking this is the place for you! Oh yes I almost forgot....this place is QUIET! No horns!
